# What is the application process? By following five quick and simple steps, you will be well on your way to getting to New Zealand. ## 1. Sign up and pay deposit Sign up on our website or over the phone with one of our internships specialists. Our New Zealand internship specialists will get in touch with you, explaining more about your internship and giving you some tips on the next steps. We will also request a copy of your resume and a cover letter, and may arrange for you to have a Skype chat with us, in order to assess your strengths as well as answer any questions you may have about the program. The Skype chat also gives you the opportunity to express your personal goals for your internship, university requirements (if necessary) and your desired internship time period. ## 2. Finding your perfect placement Once we have your personal and university requirements we will start contacting our network of clients to find you an appropriate internship which matches your needs. When we have found a possible match we will set up a Skype or phone interview between you and the employer. Please note, that if you cancel your spot during the process without a legitimate reason, BUNAC is allowed to hold your deposit. ## 3. Agreement If both you and the employer are satisfied with the interview, we will draft an internship contract to officialize the arrangement. This document will include both yours and the employer’s details and regulations throughout the internship. The agreement secures your internship and gives us the go-ahead to prepare all your arrangements in Australia. Once the contract has been signed and both parties are satisfied to proceed we will ask you to pay the rest of the internship fee, and then together we can start planning the rest of your trip. ## 4. Planning your trip! Our experienced team members are standing by to help you plan the rest of your trip. This includes help with all necessary preparation including visa, **[insurance](/insurance)**, accommodation and **[flights](/flights)**. Booking in your intern trips and activities can be done once you’re settled in New Zealand, but if you’re itching to book stuff in already, our team can help you with this too. Congratulations! You are about to embark on an incredible journey. ## 5. Arriving in New Zealand We know it can be overwhelming arriving in a foreign country; you might not know anyone and find yourself getting hopelessly lost at every corner. We want to take the stress and nerves out of your arrival here. For starters, on arrival we’ll pick you up from the airport and take you to your intern accommodation. You’ll be invited to one of our orientation sessions (Auckland only), where you’ll be welcomed you to your new environment and provided tips and recommendations about what to do, where to go and what you need to know. This is where you can find out more about our trips and activities on offer and start planning the fun bits of your trip! We’ll make sure you’re all set to start your internship and answer any questions you might have. But rest assured, once you begin your internship we will be there for your continued feedback and provide you with ongoing support. ## 6. Enjoy your New Zealand internship experience!
