Why housekeeping jobs are the hidden gem of working a ski season

You’re thinking of working a ski season, but with so many different roles out there – how do you choose which job is right for you? Our BUNAC working holiday programs will help you secure a pre-arranged ski season job before you go with a top resort in Canada and Japan, and help you find a season job in New Zealand when you arrive.
So why housekeeping?

Make it your own

The beauty of housekeeping jobs is that whatever your working style and preference, the job allows you to work to the beat of your own drum. As you’ll be working in a team, the role can be very social, however if you prefer working alone sometimes you can plug your headphones in and crack on!

Work anywhere

All resorts on our programs offer housekeeping positions, so there are no limitations on where you want to spend the season. From Banff and Whistler in Canada to Niseko in Japan, the world is yours. And even better – you could secure the job before you go on our Ultimate Canada and Ultimate Japan programs.

Develop your CV

There are so many soft skills you can develop whilst working a ski season. Your communications skills will be enhanced as you work in a team or chat to guests. You’ll most likely be working with people from all over the world, so as well as making lifelong friends, you’ll build connections and be exposed to different cultures. You’ll also gain firsthand experience of how other countries operate, especially if you’re doing you season in Japan.

Have more time on the slopes

You’ll most likely work mornings or evenings, which leaves the WHOLE DAY to ski on your own time. With this on top of your days off, you’ll have access to more of the mountain than other ski season roles.

Canada, Japan or New Zealand? Talk to the team today. It’s all uphill from here!
