Why do a working holiday in Canada?
Canada has become a go-to destination for working holidaymakers who want year-round adventures, liveable cities and decent salaries. Aside from the fact that the national dish is fries covered in cheese and gravy (enough said), Canada offers the perfect work-life balance. Surf in the morning before work, hit the slopes at night after work, and spend your weekends exploring mountains, beaches and lakes.
Now here’s the best bit. You can do all of that on a working holiday visa until you’re 35 –because Canada is just cool like that. And on our Ultimate Canada option, we hook you up with a 4-6 month ski season or summer resort job before you go – because we’re just a bit cool like that.

The pools are open!
And with the 18-35 age increase for UK passport holders, the visa pools are set to be busier than ever. The earlier you enter the IEC Canada pools, the more draws your name will be exposed to – increasing your chances of getting a working holiday Canada visa.
Hiring now for winter
From lifties to baristas, our Canada resorts are currently recruiting for winter ’24 ski season staff on our Job Hub. You must be booked onto Work Canada Ultimate and have proof you’ve entered the visa pools to book an interview.
Stuff to know before you hit the snow (or trails)
When to apply
Seriously in demand and with limited visas available, timing is everything with Canada working holiday visas (IEC visa). When you apply, your name goes into a pool, and if you’re successful, you’ll be invited to officially apply for your IEC visa. The earlier you apply, the more chance you have of your name being drawn. The 2024 IEC Canada pools are open, so book Work Canada now and we’ll guide you through the pool and Canada working holiday visa application with step-by-step guidance, webinars and Canada Clinics.
Who can apply
New rules for UK passport holders! The working holiday visa Canada eligibility has increased from 18-30 to 18-35 - giving you an extra five years to apply for your two-year Canada working holiday visa. Plus, if you previously had an IEC visa since 2015, you can now enter the pools for a second 12-month visa, or a second 24-month visa if you applied before 2015. If you’re from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Germany or Ireland and are aged 18-35, you can also apply for a working holiday Canada visa that allows you to work in Canada for 12-24 months (nationality dependent). Check out the visa page for more.
When to go
One of the best things about Canada is that it’s a year-round destination with reliable seasons. Once winter’s over, ski resorts turn into summer playgrounds ready for downhill mountain biking and hiking. That means the seasonal job opportunities are endless. If you want a more urban scene with career-focused work, big cities like Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton are cool and cultural, and perfectly placed for weekend adventures to the slopes and national parks.
Where to go
Canada is one of the most liveable countries in the world. Head for the hills to work in the mountains of British Columbia (BC), Alberta or Ontario where we can hook you up with pre-arranged jobs working in some of the country’s top ski resorts. Or if you’re more into skyscrapers than slopes, Canada’s cities are pure lifestyle. Frequently ranking as the best cities to live in the world, we have teams in Vancouver and Toronto to help you settle in and find work.
How to go
