Itinerary

Itinerary

Sunday - airport transfer & hostel hangs

This will be your arrival day with all the action starting on the following Monday morning. This means you need to be in Melbourne for the Sunday night before, at the latest.

If you are planning on arriving a few days before no worries. Your airport pickup is included for any day before the tour and we can organise any required extra nights at the YHA accommodation.

You will be invited to a WhatsApp group a week before your tour starts, so you can arrange to meet up with people from the tour beforehand if you want to.

Monday - city stroll & family dinner

Our morning meet & greet is when you will get the chance to meet everyone, including the guide, and get to know your new travel family. Following this, its time to sort the essentials;bank account, phone number and Tax File Number. This means that you’re organised for your life in Australia from the very start, so you can spend the rest of the time exploring.

After that, it’s time for a guided tour of Melbourne where you’ll learn why so many travellers love this incredibly diverse city.

End the day with a riverside group welcome meal (dinner included) in Southbank, one of Melbourne’s most iconic settings.

Included meals Dinner & 1 Drink.

Tuesday - street art & foodie tour

Melbourne is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest open-air market and it really is a true treat for all the senses.

After haggling a bargain and exploring the wonders of Queen Victoria Markets’ many stalls, spend the afternoon in the most Melbourne way possible: looking for street art, eating and drinking.

It feels like Melbourne has more food establishments than anywhere in the world, so we thought the best way to showcase that was to create an exclusive food tour just for you…

Included meals: Snacks + tasters, dinner & 2 drinks.

Wednesday - wine tasting and penguin parade

Sure, we want you to experience this fantastic city, but we also want you to see its beautiful surroundings. Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island are two of the most incredible yet less-explored spots in Australia.

Today you’ll be having some much-needed beach time, a spot of wine tasting, heading to spectacular scenic lookouts and to finish the day off, watching over 500 penguins run across the beach.

Included meals: 1 lunch, 1 dinner & wine tastings at the vineyard.

Thursday - surfing and skippy

Australia is known for its famous surf and this is the day that you'll tick another Australian bucket-list item, learning to ride a wave. This day includes a few hidden secrets along the way, but the main thing you need to know is that you will get the chance to get up close to Koalas, Kangaroos and other adorable Australian creatures. Another bucket list item ticked - two in one day!

Included meals: 1 Lunch.

Friday - Work & Travel presentation & Melbourne exploring

It is time to start thinking about what you’ll do next with your time in Australia. In the morning, you'll have a presentation on employment.

Absolutely everything will be covered before focusing on travel tips. The team will tell you everything you need to know about travelling within this incredible country so you can make the most of your time on this side of the world.

October-March(Summer): Melbourne has many celebrated suburbs and St Kilda is as famous as they get. Head to this quaint beach suburb taking in its iconic promenade, alfresco cafes and famous landmarks. The afternoon will be spent getting food at one of the many delicious cafes, lazing on the beach and trying out paddle boarding.

April-September (Winter): Today we make our way to the Royal Botanic Gardens for an enriching and insightful Aboriginal Heritage walk and smoking ceremony. Just in time for sunset at the highest viewing platform in Australia - the incredible Eureka Skydeck.

Saturday - Your Work & Travel help by day, bar crawl by night

Do you want to go in to work straight away or do you want to travel? Either way the team will get you organised! Saturday is the perfect time to look at everything you’ll need to sort out after your first week in Australia with us.

You'll go through all the job resources including resume writing tips, extensive employer database and farm-work opportunities, as well show you how to explore this magnificent country.

This will be done in a group setting (during Friday’s presentation) and in a one-on-one setting (on Saturday) meaning you’ll leave with all your questions answered!

After a full day it's time to relax and enjoy Melbourne’s biggest bar crawl.

Included meals: 4 drinks & pizza.

Sunday - rooftop BBQ & family goodbyes

And just like that, it’s nearly over.

What better way to spend your final Sunday afternoon, lazing on a rooftop overlooking the city with your new travel family. Its time to crank up the BBQ, hand out the beers and soak up the skyline as we talk about memories made over the best week of your life.
