Teaching Internship Vietnam Highlights

Touch down in Hanoi and meet the other excited interns over a lovely welcome meal. You’ll have plenty of time to get to know your fellow travellers during your fascinating orientation week, where you’ll learn about local culture and pick up some handy Vietnamese phrases. You’ll also get the chance to explore the local area with expert guides.

You’ll then spend 4.5 months teaching in a language school in Hanoi, working with enthusiastic English students and earning a great monthly stipend, all with the expert support of our Vietnamese partners throughout. You’ll work for approximately 35 hours per week (spread across 5/6 days). Although you’ll be teaching the classes independently you will have a Vietnamese teaching assistant to give you a helping hand when needed.

How you can help

  • Teach conversational English lessons
  • Help out with maths, sports and arts lessons
  • Assist local teachers
  • Take lessons independently
  • Get involved in after school activities

Why your help is needed

Vietnam has loads to offer travellers of all levels, with plenty to do and see and friendly locals ready for a chat. You’ll be teaching in Hanoi, where education levels tend to be quite steady.

Vietnamese children learn English from primary school age, but the standard is quite low as local teachers’ own English speaking abilities can be quite limited. Teachers are well respected in Vietnam, and you’ll be expected to fill a number of roles in the classroom as well as providing a bit of excitement to your students and delivering lessons they’ll benefit from forever.
